Collège Marsan

Context

Founded in 1976 in Montreal, Collège Marsan is an internationally renowned academic institution offering a program in Professional Photography.

With the acquisition of Collège Marsan in 2018 by the Icônes Educational Network, as well as the annexation of its activities through the Ex-Centris premises, it was time to review the Marsan digital experience.

The Collège Marsan website had become outdated and needed a complete redesign. Its WordPress CMS had become a real graveyard of stacks and stacks of plugins, while its overall look and feel didn’t reflect its scholarship quality.

Challenge

In the future, Collège Marsan needed to assimilate the overall brand guideline of its new umbrella brand, while updating its overall communication and design approach. The digital platform needed to embrace the new web practices, provide an efficient mobile experience, build organic traffic with SEO strategies and use WordPress as a CMS platform.

Design, UI & UX

The school’s new site had to focus on two main product categories: its Professional Photography ACS and the vast selection of workshops available. Mill3 needed to differentiate both sections with distinct layouts and navigation systems while still creating a strong overall experience.

Our mission: deploy a modern digital brand experience & turn site visitors into students.

Collegemarsan.com also needed to share student photography work with a complete portfolio section. This section needed to be flexible in its data entry so it could accommodate various photo ratios and numbers and quick uploads within the CMS structure.

Overall, the site navigation uses simple UI in combination with the visual impact of photos. The flexibility of the website grid paired with the CMS options provide a vast array of page possibilities.
